Rocking chair front porch, open concept living, master on main, these are just a few of the features at 1546 Anna Ruby Lane! We wondered what it is like living in such a wonderful home. Who better to tell us than the sellers? Here's what they had to say about 1546 Anna Ruby Lane NW, Kennesaw!
Yard & Exterior
The yard is 1 of 6 semi-private lots in the neighborhood. I chose this lot specifically for that reason. This extended, wooded lot created a sanctuary for my family. The fenced-in, wooded yard backs up to a farm, not another home. Neighbors on both sides have fences so the backyard has a cozy private feeling. With a brick walkway off the extended patio, you can sit quietly on the swing and listen to the many birds living in the woods behind you. Beyond the fence is yours to clear and create a fire pit, garden area or additional space for you and your family. The property is in walking distance to the pool, park, and tennis courts. Flowers and herbs flourish here so enjoy planting whatever makes you happy and at home!
This sweet home has a lovely front porch for sitting and chatting with the friendly neighbors while they walk their pets or children. For your enjoyment, the front of the house has a beautiful Cherry tree planted that blooms pink blossoms in the spring time.
The main level of this two-story home is "great room" style with 9' ceilings. A perfect space for entertaining or keeping an eye on little ones while you cook dinner, manage laundry or entertain in the backyard. The cozy fireplace warms the downstairs during winter and adds warmth and style to the living room. To create an even flow from front to back the entire downstairs has 3/4" hardwood floors. The master bath and large walk-in closet, located on the main, has beautiful soapstone and slate tile. The gas cooking range, dishwasher, toilets and water heater are all new.
Large closet spaces are some of the many things I searched for when buying a home, yes, I got them! After buying the home I upgraded to 3/4" hardwood floors and tiled bathrooms. What was originally a loft space became my youngest of three children bedroom (thank you Ikea for all your brilliant decorating ideas). This, as I call it, 4th bedroom can also be used as an office or playroom. In addition, for my use, the upstairs foyer was used as a computer area for teens to study or sit with a friend and chat.
I raised my, now grown, children, in a fun swim and tennis neighborhood. Annual neighborhood pool parties, side walks for bike riding and skateboarding in the neighborhood and trips to the local shopping center made living here fun and safe. With easy access to I-75, trips downtown on the weekends to parks and festivals made "yes let's do it" easy for me and my family. Kennesaw Mountain State Park is a simple view from my front porch and a quick walk or ride to hike the beautiful mountain on a Sunday afternoon. All three schools are in near proximity to the house and I recommend them all. Laredo's is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in the area, also in walking distance. With the new baseball stadium nearby and the new beautiful Whole Foods shopping center I will miss living in beautiful Kennesaw.
