Our yard is absolutely beautiful in the warmer seasons. The mature landscaping and professional lighting and the custom edging in the front make for a beautiful backdrop to our home. We love our fenced-in backyard for its peacefulness and privacy, and often spend our evenings on the back deck cooking out or socializing with friends. Both yards are fully irrigated, keeping the vegetation luscious and green throughout the season. 


The extended driveway has been a lifesaver throughout the years, providing additional parking spaces as needed. 
We love the warmth and texture of the combined stacked stone, brick and siding finishes on the exterior of our home. The front sitting porch with its stone flooring and breadboard ceiling is a relaxing area to sit and enjoy the afternoons. 


The windows and shutters are bright and crisp as they were all repainted fall, 2013.
One unique thing we love about our home is the quiet garage door openers we had installed in the three-car garage. This professional grade equipment operates more smoothly and nearly silent when compared to others. 


The 2-story ceilings in the foyer and living room are open and spacious. You enter our home through a beautiful windowed door into an impressive foyer emphasized by the iron-accented staircase. The separate dining room is to the right with a beautiful coffered ceiling. The living room is a truly elegant space. The two-story wall of windows let in light and overlooks our backyard. The stone fireplace is framed in floor to ceiling molding. 

Our kitchen, breakfast and keeping room area is the heart of our home. The spaces flow nicely together while having their own unique characteristics. The cabinets in our kitchen are stained a rich wood tone and the counter tops and kitchen island are finished in lovely granite. We really like the bar that wraps around the island as it serves as a great place for breakfast, snacks and doing homework. The keeping room is a warm and inviting space. Windows and molding frame the two-story stone fireplace and the exposed beams of the valuated ceiling add richness to the area. Having a half bath and the laundry room on the main floor has been convenient for us. 

We love that the master suite is located on the main floor. We truly feel like we are entering our own private and personal space. The connected sitting room is the perfect place to sit and relax or read a book. Our bathroom feels like a spa and has separate vanities, a whirlpool tub and a separate tiled shower. Our travertine flooring was recently professionally cleaned and has an extra gleam. We love the large walk-in closet with its custom shelving. Something that has made our lives easier is having an alarm keypad located in the master. We can easily set the alarm at the end of the day from the comfort of our own room. 

Instead of having four bedrooms on the second floor as originally planned, our home features three oversized bedrooms with large walk-in closets and bathroom access in each room. One of the rooms features vaulted ceilings and its own closed off bathroom. The other two rooms are connected by a Jack & Jill bathroom. 
Our finished basement is the Friday night hot spot at our home. We love watching movies, playing foosball and entertaining friends down there. We like that it’s tucked away from the rest of our home and contains any noise and excitement that tends to go on! The fifth bedroom is located in the basement but we use the space as an office. 


Stonemill Creek has an active Homeowner’s Association with a solid board of directors, healthy cash reserves, and opportunities for volunteering. The tennis courts were resurfaced in May 2014 and new wind screens were installed. The swimming pool was resurfaced in May 2014, and new furniture and umbrellas were purchased. In addition to the swimming pool, there is a separate toddlers pool with a mushroom shaped waterfall. The stone clubhouse is wonderful for your meetings or private parties. Our social committee plans many family and adult activities throughout the year for the enjoyment of the residents. There is also a playground and swings for the children.

One of the best features of is 10 acres of natural trails and a large fishing pond owned by Stonemill Creek located across the street from the clubhouse.


When we moved to this area, we decided to try locally owned restaurants. We found the Olive Tree in Hiram to be a wonderful family-owned Greek and Italian restaurant. Delicious food, great atmosphere and super staff have made us regulars. Ted’s Montana GrillJim and Nick’s Barbecue, and Aspens Grill are some of our favorites. There is an abundance of local and chain restaurants within 5-10 minutes of Stonemill Creek.

We all have our favorite activities, but we have found that there are several golf courses in the area that are fun to play with driving ranges where you can sharpen your golf skills. Stars and Strikes bowling and games is a nice diversion when you’re looking for indoor activities. Red Top Mountain is great for hiking and fishing. Biking on the Silver Comet Trail provides vigorous exercise or a leisurely scenic ride, depending on your mood. Marietta Square is a fun destination that hosts various festivals and events throughout the year with interesting shops and restaurants along its border.

We love this part of West Cobb because of its pastoral setting of winding roads, woods, horse farms, and flocks of turkeys. The schools in this area are highly rated and our neighbors with children love their schools! There is ample shopping including The Avenue West Cobb on Dallas Highway and numerous chain stores on Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway in Hiram. The “Silver Comet Trail” is within 10 minutes of our house. From the trail, you can ride your bike to downtown Atlanta or the state of Alabama. For commuters, it’s about 30-40 minutes to Atlanta and the same to the airport. In addition to the setting, the convenient shopping, easy commutes, and all the other nearby community activities, the best reason to live in West Cobb is that you get more home for the money than in most other metro areas!
