Beautiful brick front home in sought after Carriage Oaks. This home has upgrades galore! Newer roof, HVAC replaced, new Hardie Plank siding, new garage door, new floors downstairs & more! We wondered what it’s like to live in such a wonderful home. Who better to tell us than the Sellers? Here's what they had to say about 951 Devonwood Trail:
The back yard is fenced in which was helpful for keeping our sweet dog in sight when she was still with us. Throughout the years we have cleaned out a lot of brush toward the back so that our kids have more yard to enjoy. The evergreen shrubs and perennials we planted not only make for easy maintenance, but also for a pretty backdrop to admire year long. When we moved in there was a huge, bare pine island in the front yard. We laid sod, which has grown in nicely, and created a flower bed which includes; Gardenias, Azaleas and Nandinas.
When we had the hardieplank replaced and a fresh coat of paint applied on the house, we consulted a designer who helped select colors that will keep the house looking updated for years to come. We also replaced a majority of the windows to double panes for their updated look and energy efficient benefits.
With three kids, keeping them in sight at all times is key. We have enjoyed having an open-concept layout so that we can still be a part of conversations even if we are in the kitchen. In the kitchen we recently updated the backsplash, paint color and wood paneling. The large walk in pantry, in addition to the double door cabinet next to it, provides for great storage. Downstairs we have an extra bedroom that has previously been used as an office, a playroom and is currently our guest bedroom. Having a linen closet and full bathroom next to it is an added benefit.
Our family room is the heart of the house. The vaulted ceilings add a great design element and the built-in bookshelves have provided great storage as well as a place to display collections, pictures, decorative pieces, etc. My favorite thing about the downstairs is the concealed laundry room with the built-in folding table and shelves. All of the extra space really helps to make the task of doing laundry a little more enjoyable! Upstairs we have three bedrooms all with walk in closets, plus our master suite which includes a nice sitting area overlooking the backyard. In our bathroom, you can close the double doors, sit back and relax in the large garden tub while gazing at the stars!
We love Carriage Oaks so much that we aren’t actually moving out of it. We are just moving one street over! Since living here, we have developed life long friendships with the other families in the neighborhood and we love watching our kids grow up and experience life with them. The pool and playground at the clubhouse have been a meeting place many of times for our kids to play. The different committees here put together events all year long that we love attending. Some of which include; The Garden Club’s - How To Make Seasonal Arrangement, The Social Committee’s - Popsicles at the Playground, Open For All – Trivia, Happy Hours and the annual Halloween Parade to name a few. The people here are friendly, and we look out for one another. Our private Facebook page provides relevant neighborhood information as well as a means to just say Hi! to one another.
