The house at 506 Woodlore Lane is the closest thing you will get to having a personal retreat 24/7. This home features extensive space, multiple rooms, a completely finished basement, a pool, and a view over a lake that’s practically in the backyard!
We wondered what it is like to live in such a wonderful home. Who better to tell us than the sellers; here is what they had to say:
We are directly on the lake, and have a wonderful view of fish, turtles, beavers etc. We opted for a black wrought iron fence for safety but also to allow us to see the lake. There is a beautiful salt system in the pool, as well as a separate hot tub with a waterfall into the pool. It it about 3.5 feet deep in the shallow end and 8 feet deep in the deep end; there is a diving rock to jump from. The yard is beautifully landscaped, and except for a small area on the back edge of the pool where we plant annuals, ALL the plants are perennial and come back every year! We have an irrigation system installed as well as event lighting in the trees. The backyard is a bit of paradise!
The outside of the home is brick and hardy-plank...and easily maintained. We have added a lovely front porch with stone columns and brick paving. There is a high deck along the length of the house in the back with a gazebo trellis. Perfect for looking over the lake with your morning coffee. Beneath the deck is a patio area with pavers and an underdeck system that keeps all the rain out. It provides shade and protection from the sun on hot days. It is complete with 3 lighted ceiling fans. There is a free standing shed for all of your gardening equipment. Lastly, there is a large, built-in grill on the retaining wall. It is attached to the natural gas line so you do not need to worry with gas tanks.
All of the pool equipment has been replaced within the last couple seasons. The water heater has been replaced. We have a central vac throughout the home and even in the garage for detailing your cars. The central vac motor was replaced this past fall. HVAC systems have been tuned up yearly and with 3 units (one for each level) they have not had extensive wear on them. There is a full house water conditioning system. All the water, with the exception of the front hose faucets, is treated. It tastes great and we don’t have any hard water problems. There is a hard wired alarm system for the house, as well as an intercom/radio system in most rooms.
The first floor of the home consists of a two-story foyer, a formal dining room, formal living room (we used it as an office), family room with a real fireplace, guest bedroom with full bath, kitchen that flows into the family room, breakfast room, laundry room, and two car garage with storage room and automatic garage door openers. All of the carpeting on this level is less than a year old. Many windows look out over the deck, pool area and lake. The kitchen has all appliances, a roomy island with storage, a walk in pantry, as well as a garbage disposal and a built in electric dust pan.
The second floor of the home has 3 secondary bedrooms, all very nicely sized with large closets. One has a bathroom suite, and there is also an additional full bathroom on the upstairs level as well. There is an office on the second level, although we used it as a sewing/craft room. It could easily be a nursery. The master bedroom is very large and it has a tray ceiling and an attached sitting room complete with a fireplace. The bathroom has a separate shower and whirlpool tub, double vanity and linen closet. The clothes closet is huge, with his and hers sides. That was a big selling feature for me!
The basement in this house in really wonderful! Perfect for entertaining! Completely finished on par with the rest of the house, it boasts a workshop, a gym with a mirrored wall, a game room for the kids, a family room with built in surround sound for movies and music, a pool table room, a bar, a full bath and a storage room. All of this overlooks the pool and the lake! It's almost like having a second house!
My favorite thing about the Enclave at Woodlore is its size. There are only about 40 houses in the entire subdivision! That means you at least recognize your neighbors and everyone watches out for everyone else. We have a retired policeman in the neighborhood...again, he helps keeps us safe. The children in the cul-de-sacs all play together. We have a nice mixture of several different ethnicities. And at least in this cul-de-sac, we all kind of share food. Great neighbors!
Our favorite local restaurant is Henry's Louisiana Grill. It has delicious food and Henry won the nationwide search for the "Favorite Local Chef in America" sponsored by ABC Nightline. There are several other really good restaurants on Main Street in downtown Acworth, as well. Capers is another favorite in Kennesaw, GA.
We are a short drive from Lake Allatoona where boating and fishing and swimming abound. We are also a short drive from Kennesaw Mountain, great for hiking and biking and other outdoor activities. Our YMCA is amazing... and just a couple miles away. There's bowling, roller skating, trampoline centers, rock climbing, dog park and many other fun activities within a short distance. We are close to grocery stores and department stores. Everything is very convenient!
All of the schools in this district are rated a 10, the highest rating. We have been very happy with the schools here.
