One of our favorite things about our house is that it is located on a cul-de-sac on a heavily wooded lot. We recently updated the landscaping with new TifGrand Bermuda sod as well as some beautiful spring blooming shrubs and a Redbud ornamental tree. The sprinkler system keeps everything looking green all summer!
Our home features a wonderful front porch, and it's perfect for visiting with neighbors or enjoying a morning cup of coffee! The back of the house has a deck that overlooks the woods. We often enjoy sitting out there in the evening listening to the birds and watching for deer passing through.
First Floor Features
The first floor of our home is special because of the beautiful two-sided stone fireplace that separates the kitchen from the family room! We love entertaining guests! The large kitchen is a treat, with a center island that includes a wonderful gas cooktop and prep sink; a pair of french doors lead to the dining room. We recently installed a new Bosch dishwasher as well.
The family room has a wood trimmed coffered ceiling and a wall of windows overlooking the woods.
Second Floor Features
The staircase leading to the second floor has wrought iron spindles that we love! Upstairs you'll find a master bedroom with a walk in closet the size of a small bedroom…. (we have been really spoiled by this) and a master bath with a lovely claw foot tub. Two additional bedrooms share a bath and the fourth bedroom has it's own private bath…..perfect for our out of town family when they come for a visit! The second floor laundry is so convenient that I can't imagine having it any other way!
The basement is partially finished, with a second deck overlooking the wooded back yard and plenty of storage, as well as a third garage stall. The space is framed to accommodate a 5th bedroom and is plumbed for an additional full bath.
The Brookstone subdivision is a wonderful place to live! Plenty of golf, swim, and tennis. One of our favorite things to enjoy during the summer is "Concert On The Green". Local cover bands perform in a kid-friendly, family-oriented environment that is well attended by our neighbors and friends.
We're lucky to have some great restaurants near our home. Stilesboro Biscuit is a family favorite, but make sure you get there early as the line is usually out the door! Just a short ride away is The Chicken and The Egg for delicious farm to table meals made with local ingredients. Downtown Acworth is filled with wonderful restaurants!
We love living in West Cobb because we feel it's the perfect blend of beautiful neighborhoods, great schools and local activities. Atlanta is just a short drive away for a "night on the town"! During weekends we like to hike the nearby Kennesaw Mountain or wander through the shops in downtown Acworth. We also love to spend time at the subdivision pool with friends.
When we were transferred to Atlanta 7 years ago, schools were a top priority for our family. Harrison High School is highly rated and offers a wide variety of classes and after school activities which made it easy to get involved and meet new friends.
